By so many measures we, the UK, are keeping very bad company according to Privacy International.
Who would have thought that the Mother of all Parliaments would not only be keeping such despicable company with the USA, China, Russia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand but also find herself a World Leader in surveillance upon her own subjects.
Be afraid, be very afraid.

Ultimate Police Chases
And you have no idea which of these programmes your tax pounds are paying for because the State has kept it's sponsorship of at least one of these programmes a secret and in doing so probably broken Ofcom's rules on editorial independence and sponsorship transparency.
Of all the things that so desperately need doing in the UK, our very own State Propaganda Machine is paying for things which can only have been designed to influence the way we think.
Turn it off. Do something. Ask why.

I really admire the calm way (despite us almost being able to hear his heart racing) in which Terrence Eden handles this legalised harassment, invasion of privacy and state assault whilst retaining the presence of mind to question what is happening and make a brave attempt to retain dignity by enquiring about the identity and intentions of his twin assaulters.
The attitude and words of 4825 exhibit all the contempt for Mr Eden that the state increasingly exhibits for us all. "Gimme your bag" along with "Doing my job sir, OK" and the utterly derisive, "Bye bye sir", are sentiments that we will all surely come to fear in the future from the massive level of state command and control which is about to come down on us over the coming months and years.
The 'fake phoning' 4825 undertakes so as to prolong Mr Edens harassment is utterly contemptuous and will no doubt be the source of much laughter in the pub later that night.
This contemptuous attitude exhibited by 4825 comes directly from his political masters, from the example being set by Gordon Blair and the like. They are his role model. If this is what they want us to do then bring it on. Give me some power over other people.
The truly frightening thing is that this power is real.
Should Mr Eden have been an electronics buff with, say a half made Arduino in his bag then he would have been disappeared... for hours; possibly days; possibly 28 days; possibly 42 days.
Looking at this video I, we, imagine it must be a one off. But remember every twentieth person gets this harassment. Or do they?
I'm fairly sure a suit, tie, haircut and briefcase would get you past both these theatre of security bit part players unchecked in future.

This map is an attempt to take a UK wide, geographical view, of both the public and the personal effect of State sponsored fear and distrust as seen through the twisted technological lens of petty officials and would be bureaucrats nationwide.
I have included a line at Westminster Bridge in London to signify the point at which our liberties are being swept out to sea and to act as a marker for those liberties already lost and those well on their way.
Upstream of the bridge I may have begun to include markers for notes and incidents about events that threaten our freedom, which will bear closer scrutiny.
The impetus for starting this Map has been my increasing difficulty in explaining just why 'you' should be concerned about State Control and the all pervasive creeping Data State when talking to friends and acquaintances, whose first question has been along the lines of "How will all this affect me? Why should I and my family be concerned about all that?"
The presumption is that only terrorists need be afraid and that none of the radical changes to our laws and freedoms now coming to fruition will affect me - will they?
Yes they will. They already are.
If you feel I may have missed an event or incident that should be included on the map please leave a link in the comments.
I am trying to be fairly strict about what gets in and what doesn't and leave out law changes which have potential for State abuse, and which anger me, but have not yet turned into specific incidents that can be reported.
